The Agent's Disposition for the Benefit of the Poor

Question
A person's zakat money reached someone to distribute it to the poor as an agent. Is it permissible to use part of it to buy necessities and food for a poor person, knowing for certain that this poor person needs them, and if he knows for certain that it will be wasted if given to him in cash?
Answer
I say, and with God's success, it is permissible to give zakat in any form that is more beneficial to the poor than what I mentioned, and God knows best.
