Testimony in Divorce
Is it permissible to follow the school of thought that states: divorce is not valid except with two witnesses, when it is impossible to adhere to the four schools of thought, in order to preserve the family?
Answer
I say, and with God's success: It is not permissible to act upon any statement outside the schools of thought; because it is anomalous, and it is not to be considered. Divorce occurs merely by utterance, and witnessing it is only recommended, and God knows best.
