Tayammum with the Intention of Touching the Mushaf
If a person is in a state of minor ritual impurity and performs tayammum with the intention of touching the Mushaf, is it permissible for him to perform the obligatory prayer with this tayammum?
Answer
I say, and with God's success: It is not permissible for him to do that; because it is a condition for the validity of the intention in tayammum that he intends a specific act of worship that is not valid except with purification. Although touching the Quran is not permissible without purification, it is not a specific act of worship, and it is permissible for him to touch the Quran with this tayammum.
