Tayammum on a Smooth Stone
Is it permissible to perform tayammum with a smooth stone that has no dust on it?
Answer
I say, with Allah's guidance: It is permissible because it is of the same kind as the earth. See: Fath Bab al-Inayah 1: 115, and Al-Muhit p. 269, and Allah knows best.
