Taking Money for Praying for Others
A man asks if he can pray in Al-Aqsa for someone who is unable to reach Al-Aqsa, and whether the prayer is accepted, specifically referring to voluntary prayers; because obligatory prayers are not permissible. If he is offered a sum of money, is this considered haram since the person present in the land of Al-Aqsa is in debt and needs to pay off his debts?
Answer
I say, and with God's help: praying for others is not permissible, but it is permissible to pray and dedicate the reward to others. It is not allowed to charge money in exchange for dedicating the reward of prayer to others, and God knows best.
