Taking Charity from Others
My mother passed away, may God have mercy on her, and she used to receive food aid from a certain organization. The aid continued to be sent to her for two months after her death, and her children took it. They are asking whether taking this aid is forbidden or not, and what should they do if it is forbidden?
Answer
I say, and with God's help: It is not permissible for them to take it except with the permission of the sending party, and they must return what they have taken, even if in value, to the sending party unless they forgive them for that. And God knows best.
