Taking a Quran on loan from the mosque

Question
Is it permissible to take a Quran on loan from the mosque for reading? Or should it be returned to the mosque, knowing that there are no Quran study circles held in the mosque?
Answer
I say, and with God's help: The Qurans in the mosques are a waqf (endowment) for them, so it is not permissible to remove them from there, even for reading, and God knows best.
