Taking a loan from a usurious bank to pay off a debt
A person is in debt, and if he does not pay the debt, he will be imprisoned, and there is no one to lend him the amount to pay it off. Is it permissible for him to take a loan from the bank to pay off his debt?
Answer
I say, and with God's success: Imprisonment is not a necessity for the permissibility of taking a usurious loan, and God knows best.
