Subscription for a Sacrifice on Behalf of the Deceased
Is the person who offers the sacrifice rewarded for it, or does it only count for the deceased? Is it permissible for two or more people to share in purchasing the sacrifice for a deceased person?
Answer
I say, and with God's success: The reward of the sacrifice for the deceased belongs to the deceased, and God will not deprive the one who sacrifices from its reward; for He is the Most Generous of the Generous. It is permissible for more than one person to share in the sacrifice for the deceased, and God knows best.
