I say, and with God's success: It is not permissible to spend zakat on the shrouding of the deceased; due to the lack of ownership; as it is a condition for the zakat to be discharged from the debtor that ownership is transferred to one of the eligible recipients from the designated categories, as mentioned in Durar al-Hukam 1: 189, and Al-Nuqayah p. 52, and God knows best.
