Singing and Humming to Oneself
What is the ruling on a girl singing and humming to herself with words from her mind while she is cleaning her house, and when she realizes it, she seeks forgiveness from her Lord? Does she incur sin for her actions?
Answer
I say, and with Allah's guidance: It is permissible for her if her voice is not heard by a foreign man or if it does not contain words that provoke desires and lead to prohibitions. It is preferable for her to occupy herself with dhikr (remembrance of Allah) and the Quran. And Allah knows best.
