Silence in the Face of People's Offenses

Question
How do I take my right from people if they offend me with words? Should I remain silent or respond that I do not like this? And if I respond to them, does that not please God?
Answer
I say, and with God's success: It is permissible for a person to prevent the injustice done to him and to seek retribution to obtain his right, but forgiveness and tolerance are better, and God knows best.
