Shortening Travel Distance
I traveled from one city to another, and the distance between them exceeds 80 km. Is it permissible for me to combine and shorten the Dhuhr and Asr prayers in the first city?
Answer
I say, and with God's success: The rulings of travel are not permitted until one has crossed the boundaries of the city; thus, one does not shorten (the prayer) before that. And God knows best.
