Shaving the Newborn's Hair and Donating Its Weight
Is it Sunnah to shave the newborn's hair with a razor, weigh it, and donate its equivalent in weight? Is this for both males and females or just for males?
Answer
I say, and with God's help: It is recommended to give charity equivalent to the weight of the hair of the newborn, whether male or female, and God knows best.
