Sharing in the Sacrifice for Those Who Do Not Own Its Minimum Requirement

Question
If a person does not own the minimum requirement for zakat, and the sacrifice is not obligatory for him, and the same applies to his brother, is it permissible for them to share in the slaughter of one sheep with the intention of sacrifice as an act of devotion to Allah Almighty?
Answer
I say, and with God's help: The sacrifice is not valid for more than one person, even if they are poor; rather, what is slaughtered is an offering to God on their behalf. And God knows best.
