Selling the Quran to Non-Muslims

Question
What is the ruling on selling the Quran to a non-Muslim?
Answer
I say, and with God's success: Selling the Quran to a non-Muslim is valid. Our Sheikh Al-Othmani said in the jurisprudence of sales (1: 165): "If there is hope for a non-Muslim to convert to Islam, and it is believed that he will not disrespect it, then there is no objection according to the saying of Muhammad (peace be upon him) to leave the Quran in his hand. What has been mentioned from the opinion of the Hanafis who permit selling the Quran to a non-Muslim is that he is compelled to remove his ownership from it, is applicable to general situations where disrespect is not guaranteed. Therefore, the situation where disrespect is guaranteed should be excluded from this ruling," and God knows best.
