Rulings Concerning a Woman Whose Husband Has Died
A lady's husband passed away a few days ago, when does the waiting period begin? Does she have to verbally express her intention? What is allowed for her, and what is prohibited? Should she sleep in her parents' house or in her brother's house?
Answer
I say, and with God's help: The waiting period begins from the moment of death without intention, and she is prohibited from leaving her house except for necessity, and she should not adorn herself. If remaining in her house causes temptation, she should move to her family's house, and God knows best.
