Ruling on Zakat for Land Not Intended for Trade
A man works in a company; the company gave him a piece of land, and he intends to sell it to build a piece of land to live in. Is Zakat obligatory on the piece when he sells it?
Answer
I say, and with God's help: Such land does not have the structure of trade, so zakat is not required on it, and God knows best.
