Ruling on Wudu with a Barrier Present
Is it permissible to wash the nails and then apply nail polish (manicure) and perform wudu while having it, on the grounds that what is underneath is pure?
Answer
I say, and with God's help: Wudu (ablution) is not valid unless it reaches all of the skin and the base of the nails. As for performing wudu with nail polish ("manicure"), it is not valid, and God knows best.
