Ruling on Washing a Deceased Without Legal Guidelines Due to War

Question
A lady's cousin, 17 years old, died in Syria, and due to the war, there was no one with expertise to wash her. This lady washed the entire body of the deceased, then performed ablution for her, dressed her in a long nightgown, and then placed the shroud over it. Is what this lady did correct considering that she has never washed a deceased person before and has no knowledge of these matters?
Answer
I say, and with God's help: what you did is correct, and God knows best.
