Ruling on Urinary Incontinence
A sister is suffering from a problem with urine after giving birth, as it continuously flows out, and she likened it to the flow of amniotic fluid. She is currently seeking to undergo surgery. She maintains her cleanliness by using cotton and sometimes special diapers, but due to the constant flow, it is difficult for her to stand during prayer. Is it permissible for her to pray while sitting on a chair?
Answer
I say, and with Allah's success: She is considered to have an excuse, so she can pray with the flow occurring; because one ablution is sufficient for each prayer time. If sitting prevents the flow, it is permissible for her to leave standing. And Allah knows best.
