Ruling on the Residence of a Mourning Woman in a Place Other Than Her Home
Is it permissible for a mourning woman to sleep in her son's house during the waiting period if she was living only with her husband, who has passed away, and she fears being alone, while her son lives in a neighboring village or another city?
Answer
I say, and with God's guidance: If remaining in the marital home is a temptation, it is permissible for her to move to her son's house during the waiting period, and God knows best.
