Ruling on the deposit paid to the airline for reserving deferred tickets
An airline requires a payment of $80 to reserve deferred flight tickets, knowing that the price of these tickets is only paid when the deferred date arrives. If the tickets are not purchased and the reservations are canceled, this amount remains with the airline and is not refunded to the owner. Is paying this amount a form of usury?
