Ruling on Supplicating After Bowing in Congregation

Question
A group of women prayed Maghrib in congregation at a mourning house, and the imam made a long supplication for the deceased after bowing in the last rak'ah. Is this permissible?
Answer
I say, and with God's help: It is strongly disliked, to the point of being sinful, for a prayer to include supplication outside of calamities, and God knows best.
