Ruling on Starting a Project for the Poor from Zakat Money
A person supports a family of four and works as a day laborer with a low wage. Is it permissible to assist him with zakat money by starting a small project for him to support his family?
Answer
I say, and with God's success: It is permissible to undertake a project funded by zakat, and God knows best.
