Question
Is it permissible for a person to sacrifice on behalf of himself, his household, and also for his deceased father and brothers with one sacrifice?
Answer
I say, and with God's success: The sacrifice is obligatory for whoever owns the nisab that exempts them from zakat, which is the amount of 100 grams of gold that is not growing and is surplus to the original need, such as a second car, for example; because the first car is part of the original need, thus zakat is obligatory on it, and it is not obligatory on all household members who do not own the nisab. The sacrifice, if it is a sheep, is only for one person. And God knows best.
