Question
A man bought a piece of land and did not intend to sell it. When its price increased, he sold it and made a profit. Is there Zakat on it? And is the entire amount subject to Zakat, or just the profit?
Answer
I say, and with God's help: He purifies what he has in hand from the remaining price of the land when the time for his wealth's nisab comes, and he counts it with the rest of his wealth and purifies it, and God knows best.
