Ruling on Prioritizing Congregational Prayer over Missed Prayer
A person slept through the Maghrib prayer and woke up at the time of Isha. Is it permissible for him to join the Isha prayer in congregation and then make up the Maghrib prayer?
Answer
I say, and with God's success: He must pray Maghrib first, then he prays Isha, and the Isha prayer is not valid unless he has prayed Maghrib, and God knows best.
