Ruling on Postpartum Bleeding After Forty Days
I gave birth fifty days ago, is it postpartum bleeding after the forty days? When can I pray and read the Quran?
Answer
I say, and with God's success: The maximum duration of postpartum bleeding is forty days, and after that, a woman should perform ghusl and pray even if she sees blood, and this blood is considered as istihada (irregular bleeding) and not postpartum bleeding. And God knows best.
