Ruling on Paying Zakat in Kind
If it is not permissible to give zakat money to the son, and it is permissible to give it to the wife, but she does not manage money well, is it permissible to buy household supplies and give them to her to provide for them?
Answer
I say, and with God's success: If the wife possesses the money, do not hold her accountable later for how she managed it. In providing for them, there is a resemblance to spending on a son and his children, and this is prohibited. And God knows best.
