Ruling on Paying Zakat for Building a Well
Is it permissible to pay zakat for building a well in a village that benefits the residents, school students, and mosque visitors?
Answer
I say, and with God's help: It is not permissible to give zakat except to the poor, and if there is a necessity for it, it is possible to give zakat to a poor person who is building a well, and God knows best.
