Question
A woman has an amount of money that has reached the nisab; however, before she pays its zakat, she received another amount that has not yet completed the year. Should she combine the two amounts, or should she only pay zakat on the amount that has completed the year?
Answer
I say, and with God's success: It is not a condition for the passage of a year for every wealth that comes, but it is a condition for the passage of a year for the original nisab. At the time of the nisab, all existing wealth is to be zakat, even if it was acquired just days before. And God knows best.
