Ruling on Found Property
My livestock mixed with someone else's livestock in the summer pastures, and I found a kid with my livestock but I do not know who its owner is. Two years have passed without the owner of this kid coming forward. What should I do with it?
Answer
I say, and with God's help: If you ask about its owner and the owner does not come, you can give it in charity to yourself or to others; because it is a found item, and God knows best.
