Ruling on Dividing the Inheritance of Apartments Among Siblings
A woman passed away leaving three daughters and three sons, and she owned a building consisting of eight apartments, one of which is unlicensed. Three of the apartments are occupied by some of the siblings, and a girl was living with her deceased mother and brother in one of the apartments. Additionally, there are three rented apartments valued at 350 dinars. What is the legal ruling on their matter, knowing that the siblings do not wish to separate?
Answer
I say, and with God's guidance: They must divide the entire building among themselves so that each one knows what is theirs and what is owed to them, and they have the right to dispose of what they own through sale, rental, or gift. And God knows best.
