Ruling on Combining Two Schools of Thought

Question
He says he follows the Shafi'i school, is his study of the Hanafi school binding on him in practice and application, or can he take from both schools?
Answer
I say, and with God's help: If you adhere to the Shafi'i school of thought and have studied it well, then you should stick to it. You can benefit from the Hanafi school of thought when necessary, but if you have not studied the Shafi'i school, this is a good opportunity for you to study it and apply it; because it is very easy to implement and accessible to everyone. And God knows best.
