Question
Is it permissible to slaughter a sheep with the intention of both a sacrifice and an aqeeqah together, and is it permissible to hold a feast without distributing anything from it?
Answer
I say, and with God's help: It is not permissible to combine the intention of the sacrifice (udhiya) and the aqeeqah (the ritual sacrifice for a newborn). The sacrifice has the right to be consumed, saved, or given in charity, and it is not permissible to sell it. It is permissible to prepare a feast with it, and God knows best.
