Ruling on Changing the Sacrificial Animal Intended for Sacrifice
The father bought a sacrificial sheep, but the sheep ran away. Is it permissible to buy another sheep to replace the lost one and gift it to the father so that he can slaughter it as a sacrifice?
Answer
I say, and with God's help: If the sacrifice is obligatory for the father, it does not become void by the sheep's escape, and it is permissible to gift a sheep to the father instead of the sacrifice. And God knows best.
