Ruling on Changing the Purpose of Donated Money
A person went for treatment in Egypt and does not have the full amount. His mother has an amount set aside for his second brother for building a mosque, but sometimes she is aware of what is happening around her and sometimes she is not. Their sister suggested that they help their brother with one million riyals, considering it as the reward for building a mosque. What is the ruling?
Answer
I say, and with God's success: If the amount is allocated for building a mosque, it is not permissible to use it for anything other than building the mosque, and God knows best.
