Ruling on Blood That Comes After Forty Days

Question
On the forty-first day after giving birth, I experienced bleeding similar to menstruation that lasted for eight days, and I did not pray because I considered it menstruation. I understood from the lessons that the interval between postpartum bleeding and menstruation should not be less than fifteen days. Should I make up the prayers?
Answer

I say, and with Allah's success: The blood that comes after the forty days is considered blood of istihada (irregular bleeding) and not menstruation, so prayer is obligatory, unless you became pure during the forty days for fifteen days or more. For example, if you became pure on the twentieth day and did not experience any bleeding until after the forty days, then this blood would be considered menstruation at that time. And Allah knows best.
