Ruling on a Widow Leaving the House Without Necessity:
The questioner says that she is in her waiting period (iddah) and wants to go out to the market to buy clothes and to the salon to prepare her daughter for marriage. Is it permissible for her to do that?
Answer
I say, and with God's help: It is not permissible for a woman in her waiting period to go out except for necessity, and preparing her daughter for marriage is not a necessity, and God knows best.
