Reversing the Divorce Oath
A man swore by divorce that he would not eat at home for a whole year. Is an expiation for an oath sufficient for this oath?
Answer
I say, and with God's help: This is a conditional divorce, and the divorce will take effect if he violates it and eats. He must consult the mufti to confirm its form, and God knows best.
