Revealing the Face of the Veiled Woman
A veiled lady fell ill and is experiencing a lot of pain in her mouth, and the hospital is very far from her home. There is a clinic in her neighborhood with a doctor. She went to this doctor and he examined her. Is she considered sinful for revealing her face?
Answer
I say, and with God's success: the face is not an 'awrah, but it is covered out of a desire to avoid temptation. It is permissible to uncover it for a doctor if there is a need without sin, and God knows best.
