What is the ruling on returning the dowry and gifts to the husband if the woman requests a divorce before consummation?
Answer
I say, and with God's success: If the woman requests a divorce before consummation in exchange for returning the dowry and gifts to the husband, it is permissible, and it would be considered a khula (divorce initiated by the wife). And God knows best.
