Returning Some Endowment Property to Its Owner
A sister donated part of her house to us to teach the Quran, and it contains some furniture and items designated for the Quranic center. Is it permissible to give part of this furniture to this lady as a donation for her previous efforts in supporting the Quranic center, or is it endowment property that cannot be disposed of except for the endowment?
Answer
I say, and with God's help: If it is a waqf, it is not permissible to donate it to anyone, and it must remain in the Quranic center, and God knows best.
