Question
Relatives are more deserving of kindness, is this a hadith? And if it is not a hadith, is it better for me to give charity and purify my wealth to my relatives or not?
Answer
I say, and with God's success: Charity for relatives has in it the reward of maintaining ties and the reward of charity, as he - peace be upon him - said: (It has two rewards: the reward of kinship and the reward of charity) in Sahih al-Bukhari 2: 533. Thus, it is reported in meaning from the Prophet, peace be upon him, though not in his exact words, and God knows best.
