Reducing the Fee for Incomplete Work
I hired someone to do a specific job for a certain fee, and the work was not completed. Is it permissible to reduce the agreed fee, or should I not pay at all?
Answer
I say, and with God's success: If the work is deficient to the extent that another can complete it for a lower fee, then he is given a fee commensurate with his work, and the remainder goes to another. If another will demand a full fee, then he is not entitled to any of the fee. And God knows best.
