Receiving Food Packages for the Poor
A modest family has a monthly salary of 300 dinars, and one of their single sons helps them with a monthly favor. Is it permissible for them to accept a package of assistance if it is sent to them, knowing that they did not request help?
Answer
I say, and with God's help: If they are not wealthy enough to own what is equivalent to 100 grams of gold, it is permissible to take it, and God knows best.
