Purification of Polished Surfaces with Water
In the Hanafi school, polished objects that have been contaminated can be purified by wiping them. Should the wiping be done with a wet cloth or a dry one, and is it permissible to wipe them with water only without using a cloth?
Answer
I say, and with God's success: Polished surfaces are cleansed by wiping with a dry and damp cloth, and they are also cleansed by wiping with water; because impurities do not penetrate them, and God knows best.
