Publishing Posts Without Verifying Their Source
They publish a post saying there is an amount of (100) thousand riyals for water provision in the Grand Mosque for anyone who shares this post. What is the legal ruling on sharing this post? Is it permissible to make a donation in this way, and does the reward actually reach those who share the post?
Answer
I say, and with God's guidance: One cannot rely on messages published like this except after verifying the sources truly and the honesty of those behind them. The principle is not to publish except after verification so as not to deceive the Muslims. And God knows best.
