I inherited an amount from my father and mother, and I searched for someone I could trust with my money to invest it, but I couldn't find anyone, so I put it in the bank. I know it's usury, but I was compelled because I am sick and in need of the profit for my treatment. Am I sinful?

Answer

I say, and with God's guidance: If it is in a usurious bank, then the interest is forbidden for you, and you are not allowed to benefit from it. You must rid yourself of this profit by giving it in charity. If it is in an Islamic bank, then the profit is permissible for you, and God knows best.
